Erect shrub. Thick, glossy and tough leaves with a pointed tip. Greenish flowers in small heads followed by a reddish/chocolate brown berry. The fruit are eaten by birds and mammals. The foliage provides refuge for small birds. Fire retardant. Requires a well-drained moist sheltered position with some sun.
