Working with others

Learn about the Understorey Network, including what we do, our team, organisations and more.

WORKING WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS

The nursery is managed by a small committee and numerous volunteers. We grow, sell and promote native plant species for every situation - from large-scale revegetation projects to home gardens. We also offer contract growing services for individuals and organisations.

Landcare Tasmania

The Understorey Network (USN) is a Landcare Tasmania Community Care Group. USN has supported Landcare Tasmania by running seed collecting workshops and contributing to an online forum as part of the Landcare Tasmania Seed Resilience Program. Read more about the Seed Resilience Project on the Landcare Tasmania website.

Tasmanian Land Conservancy

USN has assisted the Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) by propagating Cassinia rugata, a threatened species, for a reserve on Tasmania’s north coast.

USN is a member of the TLC program, Gardens for Wildlife. The USN community native garden provides habitat for a host of wildlife and demonstrates the biodiversity that a native garden can support.

Threatened Plants Tasmania

USN has collaborated with Threatened Plants Tasmania to conduct a field assessment of threatened species in a native grassland and seed collection.

Tasmanian Bushland Garden

The Tasmanian Bushland Garden at Buckland supports USN by allowing us to use their garden as a site to collect seed and to teach members and volunteers about native plant identification.
