General Notes
Can be propagated from seed, although this species produces little fertile seed because of a fungus which kills immature seed. Fresh seed germinates easily in a warm situation. Can be grown by division, although the plants take a while to recover when divided. Divide and replant in autumn. Cut back old leaves in late autumn to allow for new flowers and leaves. May be successful in direct seeding. Suitable below powerlines.
